  30. Went there, got that, built and installed it, same problem.  Tried the
  31. suggestion from another post and defined NOCOTFMC.  Same result: when
  32. I enter "set /line /dev/ttyS0" kermit gets the modem, I can see the
  33. status lights change but kermit hangs.  Issuing ^C gets on with things
  34. and all seems fine.

  44. I have tried "set carrier-watch off" alone and with "set modem type
  45. usrobotics" and still get the hang condition.  HOWEVER here are some
  46. new wrinkles: This does not occur with my work machine which has a
  47. serial card.  My machine at home has on board serial hardware built
  48. into the motherboard.  BTW the machine at work does not require the
  49. "set modem type usrobotics" or set carrier-watch off".  Additionally
  50. kermit does not hang at home if I use "set line /dev/cua0".  Another
  51. possible difference is the kernel revision, home is 2.0.25 and work is
  52. 2.0.18, although I don't believe any changes to the serial i/o section
  53. occurred between these versions.  I would happily use the cua? device
  54. were it not for the fact that I need to use mgetty which wants the
  55. ttyS device.
